12th Int. Seminar & Conference on Resistance Welding – 2026

25-27 November 2026, Gliwice, Poland

Organizers

Background

Since 2000, this biennial international seminar and conference series has successfully held eleven events, organized by SWANTEC in collaboration with co-organizing partners across Europe, North America, and Asia. Over the past two decades, it has become a leading international forum where industrial specialists, researchers, and welding experts exchange knowledge, present the latest research findings, share practical experiences, and discuss future trends in resistance welding and mechanical joining.

The 12th International Seminar and Conference on Resistance Welding and Mechanical Joining will be held in Gliwice, Poland, from 25–27 November 2026. This conference will not only provide a unique opportunity for welding professionals and industry experts from around the world to exchange ideas, but also offer a friendly platform for the global SORPAS user community to share experiences.

We cordially invite researchers, engineers, manufacturers, equipment suppliers, and end users to present your achievements or participate in discussions on the latest technological advances, industrial applications, and future directions of resistance welding, mechanical joining, and related manufacturing technologies.

Resistance welding and mechanical joining remain among the most productive and cost-effective joining technologies for a wide range of applications across automotive, aerospace, electrical, and other manufacturing industries. Driven by the rapid transition to electric vehicles (EVs) and technological advancement in manufacturing, new materials such as advanced high-strength steels (AHSS), aluminum alloys, aluminum die castings, copper alloys, and other lightweight materials are being increasingly adopted. While these developments have improved product performance, manufacturing efficiency, and sustainability, they have also created new challenges in joining advanced and dissimilar materials. At the same time, advances in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), digital twins, and data-driven manufacturing are reshaping the welding industry. Intelligent welding controls, AI-assisted process optimizations, real-time quality monitoring, predictive maintenance, and digital technologies are enabling smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable welding and joining processes.
